When you add a large extension like this one to a home, and it looks like it’s meant to be there, you know you have met the brief. This gorgeous old Californian Bungalow style home located in Maitland has been recently been extended by our team and the results exceeded our expectations.
Some standout features of this home extension include matching brickwork, a custom made leadlight window that the client sourced to retain and add character to the home. External windows were matched to existing style, including the glazing and the white paintwork further enhances the look.
Another interesting feature of this home, that you don’t see in many new homes built these days, is the raked eaves which give the home a lovely heritage feel. When it comes to the outdoor spaces, we added two (2) new timber decks – the first deck was completed at the entry for ease of access to the property and a rear deck was added for relaxing and entertaining.
To cater for the clients elderly parents, we had to ensure that the new extension and alterations offered wheelchair friendly access. Disability rails were also included in the bathroom to meet future needs.
The client was careful to select bathroom fittings and fixtures that are in keeping with the heritage style of the home and the aqua colour wall tile looks great and really makes the detail in the leadlight window in the bathroom stand out.
When it comes to renovating or extending traditional heritage style homes, lots of work goes into the planning stages to ensure that design and product selections are in keeping with the era and meet any applicable heritage restrictions. We think that you will agree that this new home extension blends beautifully with the existing home, both inside and out.
Our client knew the look they were after for this home and we are proud of the high quality workmanship carried out by our team on this construction project.
This home has a perfect mix of old world charm with all the modern conveniences.
All of the product choices in this property work wonderfully with the era. The choice of light fixtures, bathroom fittings, windows, cornice work, raked eaves, brickwork, external cladding and paint colours all enhance and compliment the existing home.
